Nomination Guidelines
Chen Award for Distinguished Academic Achievement in Human Genetic and Genomic Research
Applicants for this award should be actively engaged in human genetic and genomic research. Applications must reach the HUGO office by the published deadline. The award will be given out at the HUGO Human Genome Meeting (held annually) or Asia Pacific HUGO Meeting (held bi-annually).
- The nominee must be a biomedical scientist working within the Asia-Pacific region
- The nominee must be a HUGO member
- There is no age limit for nominees
- Nominees eligible are individuals who has performed extraordinary work in biomedical sciences which has changed the thinking in the field where important technology was developed; and/or individuals who has uncovered new insights which brought forth new therapies; and/or individuals whose lifetime contribution has significantly impact the Asia-Pacific region
- Nominations must be submitted with a completed nomination form
- Curriculum vitae of the applicant
- A minimum of three referees and their contact details for further references
- A record of human genetic and genomic research focused publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals and all scientific achievements
Chen New Investigator Award
Applicants for this award should be actively engaged in human genetic and genomic research. Applications must reach the HUGO office by the published deadline. The award will be given out at the HUGO Human Genome Meeting (held annually) or Asia Pacific HUGO Meeting (held bi-annually).
- Abstract of no more than 1,000 words on any plenary or symposium or workshop topics of HUGO Human Genome Meeting or Asia Pacific HUGO Meeting
- Nominations must be submitted with a completed nomination form
- Curriculum vitae of the applicant of no more than one page of A4 size and should include a list of recent publications if any
- A minimum of three referees and their contact details for references
- A letter from the head of the institution in support of nomination
- A letter from the applicant's head of department or principal research investigator in support of nomination
