HUGO Genetic Counselling Standing Committee

HUGO Genetic Counselling Standing Committee (HGCSC)

The HGCSC is established under the authority of the HUGO Board to support global efforts in genetic counselling education and practice.

 

Its primary purpose is to:

  1. Advocate for access to training in genetic counselling for non-genetic healthcare professionals involved in genetic and genomic testing
  2. Provide a global voice for upskilling and capacity building in genetic counselling, with a focus on equity and inclusion across regions.

 

Each HUGO Genetic Counselling Standing Committee is expected to:

  • Identify and promote opportunities for education and training in GC globally.
  • Facilitate collaboration across regions to support the development of GC capacity.
  • Advise the HUGO Board on strategic priorities related to GC education and workforce development.

  • Genetic Counselling Webinar
  • HUGO Genetic Counselling Forum
  • Developing core curriculum guidelines for Genetic Counselling training, worldwide.
